Man Arrested for Stolen Gift Card Sales on Ebay

From WSAU radio. I hope none of you got your gift cards on Ebay.

"A former employee at Eastbay admits to stealing more than $90,000 worth of gift cards and selling them on E-bay. 29-year-old Ryan Stanley of Rothschild is charged with felony theft, and faces up to 10 years in prison.

Stanley admitted to police that he used a co-worker's password to activate the stolen cards. He'd sell them for half the face-value on-line.

He activated more than 200 gift cards, worth about $400 each. A co-worker noticed an unusual number of gift cards being activated and notified supervisors."

So much for Mr. Tightwad's idea. You can get into trouble for receiving stolen property (i.e., buying those cards and using them).
