Helping Others

By: Iwan Sopian

From Abu Hurairah ra, the Prophet said that Allah Almighty on the Day of Judgement will say, "O children of Adam, I'm sick, why do not you see me?" Men ask, "O Lord, how we see thee when thy Rabbul 'Alamin?"

God replied, "Did not you know that there is a My servants who are sick, why do not you see her? Do you know, when you see him you'll find I'm right beside him!"

"O people, I want to eat you, why do not you give me?" Humans directly asked, "O Lord, how we provide your meals, when you Rabbul 'Alamin?"

God replied, "Did not you know that there is an So and so My servants who have to eat, why do not you give him? Do you know if you give him food, you'll find I'm right beside him?"
"O people, I ask for a drink to you why you do not want to give him?" Men ask again, "O Lord, how we give You drink when you Rabbul 'Alamin?" God replied, "Do not you know that there was a servant who asked for my drink, why do not you give him? Do you know if you guys give him a drink, you'll find I'm right beside him?" (Muslim).

Would not each of us when ill want dijenguk, although only with a smile. When hungry, want someone to feed, even just a bite. And when thirsty want someone to pour out the water but only a sip. Every Muslim should try to help his brother as a form of love as he loves himself.

Let us see the great examples of behavior from Abu Hurairah ra. When he was in the Mosque of the Prophet beritikaf, suddenly found a man who is sad sitting in the corner of the mosque. Abu Hurairah approached her and asked about her grief. Once knowing the problem, the Abu Hurayrah said, "Come stand with me, I will meet your needs."

The man said, "Are you going to leave itikafmu in this noble Prophet Mosque just for me?" Abu Hurairah was crying and said, "I heard the Prophet saying," goes one of you to meet the needs of his brother to be fulfilled, it is better for him than masjidku itikafnya at this for ten years. "

What a wonderful expression of an Arabic poem which describes the happiness of people who helped his brother, "You look so happy with something that gives you, as if thou hast given him something that you have requested."
